Mateo Kovacic happy with Roberto Mancini relationship

Mateo Kovacic insists that falling down the pecking order is not having an impact on his relationship with Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini.

Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic has insisted that there are no problems in his relationship with head coach Roberto Mancini.

Kovacic has struggled to secure regular playing time since Mancini's return to the club in November, but the Croatian is happy to continue fighting for a spot in the side.

"Many players get a game wrong or don't play well, but in Italy there is just too much criticism. I try not to think about it," the 20-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.

"New players have arrived, but competition is healthy and can only help the squad. I think no team can be build on a single player, as it's the unit that counts in football.

"I have a good rapport with Mancini, just as I get along with all the players."

Reports earlier this week suggested that Everton were planning a £14m summer move for Kovacic.
