Sheffield Wednesday sign former Hull City winger

Sheffield Wednesday sign winger Paul McElroy after his release from Hull City.

Former Hull City winger Paul McElroy has signed a deal with Sheffield Wednesday.

The Northern Ireland Under-21 winger, who was released by the Tigers at the end of the season, has signed a one-year contract at Hillsborough.

The 19-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "I played in some trial games earlier this year and thankfully did well. Now I want to get a good pre-season in and break into the first team."

McElroy signed his first professional deal at the KC Stadium last year but failed to make an appearance for the first team before his departure.
