Hull City rebuff Blackburn Rovers' Tom Cairney bid

Hull confirm that they have rejected Blackburn Rovers' offer to sign on-loan midfielder Tom Cairney on a permanent basis.

Blackburn Rovers have had their initial offer to buy Hull City loanee Tom Cairney rejected by the Premier League club.

The 22-year-old midfielder, who has not started a game for the Tigers since January, is currently plying his trade at Ewood Park.

Rovers would like to sign him permanently when his short-term deal ends in the New Year, but Hull have indicated that the Championship outfit will have to increase their bid if they are to land Cairney on a full-time contract.

A spokesman for Hull told reporters: "I can confirm that we have rejected a bid for Tom Cairney."

Cairney has scored two goals in 20 appearances for Blackburn this season.
