Hull City captain Curtis Davies has said that his side deserved their 2-1 victory over Leicester City in the opening match of the 2016-17 Premier League season.
The Tigers went into the campaign as the favourites to be relegated back to the Championship following a tumultuous summer that has left them managerless and with only 13 fit senior players.
However, goals from Adama Diomande and Robert Snodgrass saw them stun the defending champions at the KCOM Stadium and get their season off to a perfect start.
"I was letting out frustration in the huddle at the end. I said we need to stick together. We had nothing to lose, we played well and deserved the win," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
The victory sees Hull become the first newly-promoted side to win their opening match of a Premier League season since 2012.
