Steve Bruce not getting carried away with Hull City form

Hull City manager Steve Bruce warns that his side's good form does not mean that they can afford to take their foot off the pedal during the hectic winter schedule.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has insisted that he will not let his side get carried away with their impressive start to the season after they beat Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The Tigers beat the Teesiders 3-0 at the KC Stadium to extend their unbeaten run to 10 matches and stay top of the Championship on goal difference.

However, Bruce was quick to point out that it is early November and that only a third of the league matches have been played so far, while he also highlighted the need for his players to keep their feet on the ground.

"We were excellent from one to eleven," he told the club's official website. "Considering the opposition, it was probably our best performance of the season. To beat Middlesbrough as comfortably as we did, it must have been a good performance.

"We were hungry, showed pace, power and resilience. We looked a very decent team. We have started off very well, but it is only November and we have got a long way to go. We are not going to get carried away with it because it is a long winter in the Championship.

"We have got a good squad of players who are fit and determined to do well. If we keep our feet on the ground, we will have a decent chance. The players need a pat on the back. Five clean sheets in a row is some team performance and it is something we pride ourselves on."

Hull will have to wait until after the international break to attempt to keep their hot streak going when they face Bristol City in a fortnight's time.
