Hull City manager Steve Bruce has claimed that a number of his players underperformed during Saturday's surprise 1-0 defeat at home to Burnley.
Dean Marney came back to haunt his former club five minutes before half time at the KC Stadium and condemn the Tigers to a second loss in six games.
"We had too many of our good players not playing as well as they should have been," Bruce told Sky Sports News. "That caused us a problem.
"We've got to rid ourselves of that Achilles heel and start taking something out of games in which we don't play well.
"The Championship has wrecked a few coupons today. It's a really difficult league because of the inconsistency of it."
Hull have slipped down to fifth place in the Championship table following Saturday's defeat.
