Mark Lillis named Huddersfield Town caretaker manager

Huddersfield confirm that academy coach Mark Lillis has been appointed the club's caretaker manager following the departure of Mark Robins.

Huddersfield Town have confirmed that academy coach Mark Lillis has been appointed the club's caretaker manager.

The Terriers are currently without a permanent boss following Mark Robins's departure over the weekend.

Robins left the club by mutual consent on Sunday, just 24 hours after the team's opening-day defeat to Bournemouth in the Championship.

"As a club – staff, players and fans alike – we have to pull together and move on," Lillis told Huddersfield's official website. "I know that the fans will get behind the players if they put a shift in and we've challenged the players to do that."

Huddersfield return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Chesterfield in the first round of the League Cup.
