Luiz Felipe Scolari brings end to Guangzhou Evergrande tenure

Luiz Felipe Scolari quits Chinese champions Guangzhou Evergrande, but reveals that he may remain in the Far East for another managerial spell.

Luiz Felipe Scolari has confirmed that his "story with Guangzhou Evergrande is finished" after leading the club to a third Chinese Super League title in a row.

The 68-year-old was expected to make way at the end of the campaign, which culminated in the Southern China Tigers maintaining their domestic dominance.

World Cup-winning boss Scolari has now brought an end to his stint at Guangzhou but, after a successful spell that also saw him win the Asian Champions League and Chinese FA Cup, he has refused to rule out remaining in the CSL.

"My story with Evergrande is finished," Marca quotes him as saying. "But my story with China may continue. I will carefully think about it. No-one knows where we are heading, but I hope Evergrande club can have a bright future.

"I don't know if I will come back to China. I will make my decision carefully. My football life has taken me all over the world, but China is one the three best places that I've ever worked."

Recently-sacked Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly in talks to succeed Scolari at the Tianhe Stadium.
