Kit Symons unhappy to be denied late winner in Millwall stalemate

Kit Symons praises his Fulham players for showing "a lot of endeavour" in their goalless draw with Millwall at The Den.

Fulham manager Kit Symons has admitted that he is "disappointed" not to have taken all three points from yesterday's meeting against Millwall, having seen his side denied a late winner.

Hugo Rodallega turned home Kostas Stafylidis's cross four minutes from time at The Den, only for his strike to be ruled out for offside.

However, Symons believes that the officials got the big call incorrect, which meant that the game finished as a goalless draw.

"I'm disappointed not to get the win, but a point in this division is precious so we'll take that," he told reporters. "It was probably the right result in the end. They had the better possession and pressure in the first half, but I thought we were the ones pushing forward in the second half.

"I've also seen the disallowed goal again, and in my opinion it should have stood, so I'm disappointed not to have nicked it but points are important and we're thankful of the one we've got. Hugo is level with the man marking him, and the other defender is a yard deeper so it certainly should have stood but these things happen.

"If the goal did stand it would of capped off a fantastic day - a clean sheet away from home, and if we would have come away with all three points it would have been perfect but it wasn't quite to be. But it was a hard-fought performance, and the players showed a lot of endeavour and a lot of effort."

Fulham, who remain five points clear of the Championship relegation zone, return to action on Tuesday night when they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers.
