Fulham manager Martin Jol believes that it will take his team a couple of weeks to gel following the club's busy end to the transfer window.

Fulham manager Martin Jol has said that it will take his team a couple of weeks to gel following the club's busy end to the transfer window.

The Cottagers lost midfield duo Clint Dempsey and Moussa Dembele to Tottenham Hotspur earlier this week, while Dimitar Berbatov arrived from Manchester United.

After watching his side lose 3-0 to West Ham United at Upton Park, Jol told Sky Sports News: "It was difficult. Before the match we had a few little problems.

"We made a step forward last year and now we have had to take two steps back almost. I think we will find the balance in the next couple of weeks.

"The only disappointing thing is that the players go on international duty. Today had nothing to do with our qualities in midfield or up front, we didn't defend well."

Fulham's next match is at home to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday September 15.
