Mark Hughes praised Fulham’s performance last night as his team secured a place in the top ten of the Premiership.
The Cottagers’ home game against Bolton gave them a 3-0 victory after Clint Dempsey scored twice, followed by another from Brede Hangeland to secure the win.
“I thought we were excellent,” the manager told the BBC. “We are in the top ten now. I think it’s only the second time this year that we’ve been in the top ten and now it is up to us to make sure we stay there until the end of the season.
“You have heard me time and time again say that I felt we are a top ten side. I think we proved that again tonight. We have got good quality, we play the right way and I think we deserve to be in the top ten.”
The result moves Fulham from 14th to ninth in the table, giving them a safe eight-points’ distance from the relegation zone and placing them four points behind last night’s opponents.
