Martin Jol happy with "scrappy" Fulham win

Fulham boss Martin Jol admits that his side had to dig deep to beat Sunderland 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday.

Fulham manager Martin Jol has admitted that his side had to dig deep to beat Sunderland in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Cottagers earned a 1-0 win at the Stadium of Light on the opening day of the new season thanks to Pajtim Kasami's goal.

"I think it was a perfect away result but not a perfect performance," Jol told BBC Sport. "We had to grind out the result. It was a very scrappy game for us."

Fulham continue their campaign at home to Arsenal on Saturday.
