Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic believes that the "fantastic" Aleksandar Mitrovic is proving he belongs at the highest level following his brace against Burnley.

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic has said that striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is proving he can perform at the highest level.

Mitrovic struggled for game time at Newcastle United during the first half of last season, but was one of the main catalysts in Fulham's drive for promotion with 12 goals during his loan spell in the second half of the 2017-18 campaign.

The Serbia international has since made that switch permanent, and Jokanovic was full of praise for the striker after watching him score twice in a man-of-the-match display during this afternoon's 4-2 win over Burnley.

"His attitude is fantastic, he is always available, we believe he is a quality player," Jokanovic told reporters.

"He demonstrated his ability in the Championship last season. Some people think he is only a Championship player but he showed he can be fighting at the highest level.

"I was getting worried we were waiting so long for the fourth goal but we got it and killed the game. I must be satisfied."

Mitrovic is level with Sergio Aguero, Sadio Mane, Roberto Pereyra and Richarlison on three goals from three games so far this season.
