Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic says that solid defending was the bedrock of his side's 1-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday.

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic has praised his side for their solid defensive display during their 1-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday.

Aleksandar Mitrovic scored the only goal of the game, but the Whites head coach was quick to hail his backline in the aftermath of the match.

"We try to put the team ahead of us under pressure and it's important not to give up and keep going forward and be ready for the next step," Jokanovic told reporters in his post-match press conference.

"We created many chances, we had 20 shots, our defensive line is working very well.

"We didn't give Wednesday any chances to score goals. At the end of the game they had one situation which was dangerous for us."

Fulham's unbeaten run, which now spans 19 matches, leaves them two points off the Championship's automatic promotion places.
