Andy Lonergan: 'Fulham supporters entitled to boo players'

Andy Lonergan admits that Fulham supporters "have got a right to be disappointed" due to the slow start made by their side this season.

Andy Lonergan has urged supporters to keep the faith following Fulham's slow start to the Championship campaign.

Players were booed off the field after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town, which prolonged the Cottagers' winless start to four games.

Fulham keeper Lonergan admits that those in the stands have every right to air their anger, though remains hopeful his teammates can respond to the recent flak by picking up their first win next time out.

"You're entitled to your opinion. It's not difficult because that's what we do," he is quoted as saying by Get West London. "We've got to play football and if we're not playing well they'll let us know.

"I didn't hear much. They've got a right to be disappointed as they want to see the team win. On the whole, it was a good attendance again. Hopefully they'll stick with us and we can reward them.

"After the Brighton game, we could have had six points quite easily. We don't have so we've got to get points on the board as quickly as possible."

Fulham turn their attention to League Cup commitments in midweek when they take on Sheffield United at Craven Cottage.
