Didier Deschamps: 'France must be ambitious at World Cup'

France manager Didier Deschamps urges his team to be ambitious ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.

France manager Didier Deschamps has urged his team to be as ambitious as possible ahead of this summer's World Cup.

Deschamps and his side take on Honduras, Ecuador and Switzerland in Group E of the competition, and he insists that the nation cannot look back at the 2010 tournament, when Les Bleus were knocked out at the group stage.

"France must have the ambition to be the most competitive possible," the 45-year-old told FIFA.com. "We will go to Brazil with the urge to go as far as possible.

"No one can erase what happened in 2010. This will be part of the story. But we do not look behind us. The important thing is the World Cup and Euro 2016 in France that will follow."

Deschamps captained France to glory in the 1998 World Cup.
