Vincenzo Montella: 'We deserved draw against Sampdoria'

Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella says that his side's goalless draw against Sampdoria was a 'fair result'.

Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella has admitted that his side's goalless draw against Sampdoria this afternoon was a 'fair result'.

The Viola failed to gain ground on Napoli in the final Champions League qualifying spot, but Montella believes that both teams were fully deserving of a point.

"I think the game was played well and I accept the point because it is basically fair. The two teams faced each other openly, but it's a shame we hit the bar," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"We tried to win right to the end despite playing in an all-new line-up. Now we'll have a week to recover physically and psychologically."

Fiorentina are currently fourth in the Serie A table.
