Exeter City midfielder Lee Holmes has admitted that he feels "disappointed" not to have held on to the lead against Liverpool in tonight's FA Cup third-round match at St James Park.
Holmes gave the League Two side a 2-1 lead at the stroke of half time, but Brad Smith, who was part of an inexperienced Liverpool team, equalised in the 73rd minute.
The game ended in a 2-2 draw, meaning that Exeter will travel to Anfield for a replay.
"Unfortunately we couldn't get the win," Holmes told BBC Sport. "We knew that we could cause an upset. We're disappointed that we haven't come away with a win because I thought we played really well.
"[Liverpool are] a great side whoever they put out, but it will be nice to go to Anfield and give them another game."
Exeter have not reached the fourth round of the competition since the 1980-81 season.
