Everton boss Roberto Martinez expects plenty of transfer activity this summer

Everton manager Roberto Martinez believes that Premier League clubs will be busy this summer, but he is determined to keep hold of his stars.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez believes that this summer's transfer window will be busy among Premier League clubs, but he is determined to keep hold of his star players.

The Merseyside outfit had a disappointing season as they finished 11th in the table, and now attention turns to strengthening the side.

The main priority for Martinez is to keep John Stones, Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley, who have all been linked with moves away from Goodison Park.

"We're really looking forward to young players, who have had an opportunity, taking a bigger role and help us become a winning team," the Liverpool Echo quotes Martinez as saying.

"That's the focus we have and we hope we can look forward to the future with players like John Stones, Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku here. I expect a lot of movement but we're certainly not actively looking to lose any of our assets."

Everton ended their season on Sunday with a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
