Matthew Kennedy returns to Everton

Matthew Kennedy returns to Everton following a six-month loan spell in Scotland with Hibernian.

Hibernian have confirmed that Matthew Kennedy has returned to Everton following a loan stint with the club.

The 20-year-old joined the Scottish Championship side in August and went on to make 16 appearances, which yielded a return of one goal.

"We would like to wish Matthew all the best for the rest of the season," Hibs manager Alan Stubbs told the club's official website.

"He has been great throughout his time here at Hibernian and we would like to thank Everton for letting us take one of their promising young players on loan."

Kennedy signed for Everton from Kilmarnock in 2012.
