Everton could reportedly attempt to sign Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg before the January transfer window closes for business.
The 24-year-old has made 122 appearances for the Saints since arriving from German champions Bayern Munich in the summer of 2016.
The Denmark international will see his contract at St Mary's expire in the summer of 2021, though, and according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Everton are interested in a potential move.
Southampton are believed to value the midfielder in the region of £35m, though, which Di Marzio told Sky Sports News is a figure that the Merseyside giants are currently not prepared to pay.
Hojbjerg has only missed one of his team's 24 Premier League matches this season and has impressed in their recent turnaround in form.
Carlo Ancelotti's side have also recently been linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Emre Can.
