Everton boss David Moyes admits that his side are underdogs to finish in the top four this season, but remain optimistic that they can do it.

Everton manager David Moyes has expressed his belief that his side can still finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.

The Toffees recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Stoke City this afternoon to remain within two points of fifth-placed Arsenal, while Chelsea's 2-1 loss to Southampton brought Everton within four points of a Champions League place.

Moyes admits that his side are big underdogs to finish in the top four, but believes that even being in contention this late in the season is great for the club.

"We're the big underdogs, we need results to go for us as well as for us to win our games," Moyes told ESPN

"But we've got them to play [teams above] and they've got us to play as well, so we're in there and it's great thing to say we're actually having a chance to get into the Champions League.

"That's good for us, we deserve to be there for the way we've played this season."

Everton's next match comes against Tottenham Hotspur next Sunday, while they also have games against Chelsea and Arsenal left this season.
