Everton manager Roberto Martinez has claimed that the team need to target the Champions League following recent investment.
It was announced at the weekend that Iranian businessman Farhad Moshiri has completed a £175m takeover of the Merseyside club.
At the moment, Everton are 12th in the Premier League table, nine points behind a European spot.
"We have to look to the Champions League and we have to become a winning team," Martinez said in Monday's press conference. "That's a broad statement and difficult to achieve but this investment will take us into a different level in terms of being able to get there.
"Clearly it is an exciting time and that's what every Evertonian should know. The new investor knows the history of this club and is someone who will be a really strong addition."
Meanwhile, reports have claimed that despite the investment, striker Romelu Lukaku could force a move away from the club this summer.
