Roberto Martinez: 'Steven Pienaar out for a little longer'

Everton boss Roberto Martinez reveals that midfielder Steven Pienaar will be sidelined for "a little longer" through injury.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has revealed that Steven Pienaar will be sidelined for "a little longer" with a soft tissue problem.

The South African midfielder suffered the injury ahead of the Toffees' 1-0 win over Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.

"I think Steven Pienaar is going to be a little bit longer - it's a grade one soft tissue problem," Martinez told the club's official website.

Everton continue their league campaign on Saturday when they face West Ham United at Upton Park.
