Stoke City boss Mark Hughes: 'Everton outplayed us'

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes concedes that Everton outplayed his side at Goodison Park this afternoon.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has conceded that Everton were the better side after the Blues put four goals past his team at Goodison Park.

The Potters boss admitted that he was "disappointed" with the performance, but urged his players to pick themselves up ahead of their next outing.

"If we are honest with ourselves Everton were better, they had more options, were more dynamic and had more pace but we have to pick ourselves up for Wednesday [against Cardiff]. We have to do better then," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"We were disappointed with what we produced. With a minute to go to half-time we should see the half out and to concede either side of half time knocked the stuffing out of us. The last two Everton goals were a case of us chasing the game."

Gerard Deulofeu opened the scoring for Everton before the break, with Seamus Coleman, Bryan Oviedo and Romelu Lukaku finding the net in the second period.
