Everton confirm their squad numbers for the 2023-24 season, following five incomings and numerous outgoings in the transfer window this summer.

Everton have confirmed their squad numbers for the 2023-24 season, following the closure of the transfer window last week.

There was a potential conflict when Jack Harrison joined on loan from Leeds United and took the number worn by Demarai Gray.

Gray was expected to leave all summer, but Everton could not get a deal done to bring another winger in, so the Jamaica international looked set to stay.

Efforts to sign Wilfried Gnonto failed, as Everton had their final bid rejected on August 31, before walking away from the deal.

However, after a public outburst from the player seemingly aimed at manager Sean Dyche, Everton quickly looked for a resolution to move the winger on.

Shortly after, Gray moved to join Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson at Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League.

That has freed up the number 11 and Harrison will now wear it during his season-long loan spell at Goodison Park - the number that he wore last season at Leeds.

Some changes already known about saw Nathan Patterson take James Tarkowski's number two shirt, with the central defender moving to number six.

New £25m signing Beto has been given number 14, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin still in possession of the number nine shirt.

Ashley Young has taken number 18 yet again after wearing it at Manchester United and in his second spell with Aston Villa.

Despite numbers three and four both being vacant, Jarrad Branthwaite will remain number 32 after returning from a loan spell at PSV Eindhoven.

Other new additions Arnaut Danjuma and Youssef Chermiti will wear 10 and 28 respectively, the former of which became free following Anthony Gordon's move to Newcastle United in January.

Dele Alli and Andre Gomes have returned from loan spells in Turkey and France and retaken the numbers that they had before leaving - 20 and 21 respectively.

Everton are back in Premier League action on Sunday when they welcome Arsenal to Goodison Park.
