Tom Cleverley has suggested that his familiarity with several of his new teammates will help him settle quickly into life at Everton.
The 25-year-old has completed a free transfer to the Toffees from Manchester United, despite spending last season on loan at Aston Villa.
Cleverley revealed that his relationship with Roberto Martinez was key to the move, but also feels that linking up with players such as James McCarthy and Darron Gibson, who he has played with before, will make the switch a simple transition.
"James [McCarthy] is a top player," Cleverley told the club's official website. "I always knew he would be from when I played with him at Wigan.
"Having said that, there's not only James, there are plenty of the other lads here who I have played with for England and Manchester United, so hopefully that will help me settle in quickly."
Cleverley made 37 appearances for Villa last season, scoring three goals.
