Mallorca 2-1 Espanyol

Tomer Hemed nets a brace to help Mallorca secure a season-opening win over Espanyol at Estadio Son Moix.

Tomer Hemed struck twice as Mallorca began their La Liga campaign with victory over Espanyol at Estadio Son Moix.

The Israeli forward opened the scoring after just two minutes when he turned home Emilio Nsue's floated cross from 10 yards.

Wakaso Mubarak then latched onto Cristian Gomez's through pass to score his first goal for Espanyol four minutes later.

The scores remained level until five minutes from the final whistle when Hemed broke free in the penalty area to blast a right-footed drive into the bottom right corner.
