Jamie Vardy: 'I will play anywhere for England'

Leicester striker Jamie Vardy insists that he is happy to play wherever Roy Hodgson tells him to for England.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has insisted that he is happy to play wherever Roy Hodgson tells him to for England.

Vardy has established himself as a key part of the England squad following a remarkable season with Leicester that has seen him score 19 Premier League goals.

The only player with more in the top flight is compatriot Harry Kane, however, and with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Daniel Sturridge also in contention for a starting berth at Euro 2016, Vardy is more than happy to be fielded out of position if needs be.

"I am happy to play wherever the boss thinks I am best adapted to or whatever he thinks suits the formation we are playing," Vardy told reporters.

"It is an absolute honour to play for your country and if that means that I am playing in a position I am not playing week in, week out I am more than happy to do so.

"Wherever the boss wants me to play, I will always give 100% in that position. I always will do. That is just the type of player that I am."

England take on Germany in Berlin on Saturday before hosting Netherlands on Tuesday.
