John Stones to be handed first England start in Norway friendly

England manager Roy Hodges announces his squad for tomorrow night's Wembley friendly against Norway, with John Stones in line to be handed his first starting appearance.

John Stones will be awarded his first England start in tomorrow's friendly meeting against Norway.

The 20-year-old defender, who penned a new five-year contract at Everton last month, has been selected at right-back by manager Roy Hodgson for the Wembley meeting.

New Three Lions captain Wayne Rooney also starts, taking his place alongside Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge in a strong-looking starting lineup.

England follow up tomorrow's game with a trip to Switzerland to begin their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

England XI: Hart; Stones, Jones, Cahill, Baines; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Henderson, Wilshere, Sterling; Rooney, Sturridge
