Scott Sinclair aiming to earn England chance

Celtic winger Scott Sinclair says that he still holds hope of earning a place in a future England squad.

Scott Sinclair has suggested that he is solely focused on playing for Celtic, despite retaining an ambition to break into the England squad.

The winger starred during his time playing for the England Under-21 side, but disappointing spells with both Manchester City and Aston Villa have seen the attacker fall down the international pecking order.

Nine goals in 11 league games for Celtic has thrown Sinclair's name back into the equation, but he has insisted that he is attempting to concentrate on holding down a regular place in Brendan Rodgers's starting lineup.

The 27-year-old is quoted by PA as saying: "When the time is right, it will come but at the moment, I am concentrating on playing week by week.

"If I can get into England, that would be great but my ambitions are still to play for my country."

Sinclair will be hoping to reach double figures in the Scottish Premiership when Celtic travel to Kilmarnock on Friday night.
