West Ham United vice-chairwoman Karren Brady believes that England boss Sam Allardyce will be "disappointed in himself" after being caught out by a media sting.

West Ham United vice-chairwoman Karren Brady has said that England boss Sam Allardyce will be "disappointed in himself" after being caught out by a media sting.

The 61-year-old's future in charge of the national team has come under intense scrutiny just two months after he took the job following comments made to undercover reporters from the Daily Telegraph.

Brady worked with Allardyce during his time as West Ham boss from 2011 to 2015, and she believes that it would be a "great shame" if he were to lose his job over the allegations.

"This is a man who spent his whole life trying to get that job and got it in his 60s," she told BBC Radio 1.

"And what a great shame if he loses that job through non-footballing reasons. And I think he'll be disappointed in himself."

Among other things, Allardyce is alleged to have offered advice on how to "get around" third-party ownership rules relating to player transfers.
