Sports Mole selects its Euro 2020 team of the week for the quarter-finals of the competition, including Luke Shaw, Jorginho and Harry Kane.

Spain, Italy, Denmark and England are the four semi-finalists at this summer's European Championship, and two of those teams will lock horns in the final of the competition at Wembley on July 11.

Spain needed penalties to overcome Switzerland on Friday, with the two teams playing out a 1-1 draw over the course of 120 minutes, and La Roja will take on Italy in the first semi-final on Tuesday night, as Roberto Mancini's side recorded a 2-1 victory over Belgium to progress to the final four.

Denmark's spot in the semi-finals was confirmed on Saturday courtesy of a 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic, and the Danes will face England on Wednesday, with the Three Lions dispatching Ukraine.

Harry Kane netted twice for Gareth Southgate's side, while Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson were also on the scoresheet for an England side that will have home advantage against Denmark.

Here, Sports Mole selects its Euro 2020 team of the week from the four quarter-final fixtures at this summer's competition.

DEFENCE

Jordan Pickford might have kept another clean sheet for England, but Yann Sommer absolutely sails into this team between the sticks. The Switzerland goalkeeper made 10 saves during his team's last-eight clash with Spain, and he did not deserve to be on the losing side due to the nature of his performance, which was brilliant over the course of 120 minutes and also in the penalty shootout.

There are again two England defenders in the side, with Manchester United duo Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw in fine form against Ukraine. Maguire was dominant at the back and got his name on the scoresheet with a brilliant header in the second half, while Shaw came up with two assists during a brilliant display.

There is also a spot in the side for Giorgio Chiellini, who was at his towering best against Belgium, while there had to be a position for Joakim Maehle, who has had a fine tournament. Maehle has played as a left-sided wing-back for Denmark at Euro 2020 but is shifted to the right for the purposes of this side.

The 24-year-old produced perhaps the pass of the tournament to set Kasper Dolberg up for what proved to be the winning goal against the Czech Republic, and it was impossible to leave him out of this team considering his overall performance on Saturday.

MIDFIELD

Jorginho's performance for Italy against Belgium was stunning, with the Chelsea midfielder boasting a pass success rate of 99%, completing 71 of his 72 passes, which is a staggering statistic for a midfielder at this level of competition.

Another Italian in the shape of Nicolo Barella is included, with the 24-year-old scoring his team's first in the 31st minute of the match before turning provider for Lorenzo Insigne to register just before the interval. Barella is another to have enjoyed a strong European Championship, and a number of clubs, including Liverpool, are said to be interested in signing him from Inter Milan.

The final central midfielder comes from Denmark, with Thomas Delaney's performance against the Czech Republic earning him a spot in the side. The 29-year-old made the breakthrough in the fifth minute of the quarter-final tie, and he was excellent during his 81 minutes on the field.

Sergio Busquets just misses out, with the Barcelona midfielder impressing for Spain against Switzerland, while England trio Henderson, Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips deserve special mentions for their performances against Ukraine.

ATTACK

Lorenzo Insigne's goal against Belgium on Friday was absolutely sensational, and it proved to be the winner in the quarter-final. The 30-year-old had three shots in total against Roberto Martinez's side, while he had a pass success rate of 89% during a fine all-round performance from the Napoli attacker.

Harry Kane has taken some criticism this summer, but the England captain was back to his best on Saturday, scoring the game's all-important first goal in the early stages before netting a second in the early stages of the second half. It was much more like it from the 27-year-old, who looks in good shape ahead of Wednesday's last-four clash with Denmark.

The final spot in the XI goes to Jadon Sancho, who excelled against Ukraine, having been handed his first start of the tournament. The soon-to-be Manchester United attacker did not score or register an assist, but he was a constant menace in the final third and continued to open space for teammates in the final third. Sancho's use of the ball was also excellent, boasting a pass success rate of 93%.

Sancho edges out competition from Raheem Sterling to join Insigne and Kane in the final third, while Dolberg deserves a mention for his performance in Denmark's win on Friday, with the 23-year-old finding the back of the net during another strong display at this summer's European Championship.
