Cesc Fabregas: 'England among the favourites for Euro 2016'

Cesc Fabregas warns Spain and the rest of Europe's elite to expect a full-blooded title bid from England in Euro 2016.

Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas has claimed that England have enough firepower to do damage at Euro 2016 next summer.

Roy Hodgson's men lost 2-0 to La Roja in Alicante on Friday in a defeat which is perceived to have illustrated the difference in class between both sides.

Nevertheless, the Three Lions won all 10 of their qualifiers, and the Chelsea playmaker is certain that they will be a threat to Europe's elite in France come June.

"I think they will compete very well in the Euros, that is for sure. If you ask me now, right now, if they are one of the favourites, I would say yes but of course, they will need to score the chances they create because counter-attacking, they are one of the best sides," Fabregas is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"And when they get chances with [Raheem] Sterling, [Harry] Kane and [Wayne] Rooney, [Adam] Lallana, they have good players but they have to take their chances."

Next up for England is another friendly with France at Wembley on Tuesday.
