Ashley Young could be fit for England's quarter-final battle against Italy on Sunday after taking part in training today following injury concerns.

England and Manchester United winger Ashley Young could be fit for the Three Lions' quarter-final clash with Italy after taking part in training.

The 26-year-old has been a doubt for this Sunday's match after picking up a knock during England's 1-0 win over Ukraine on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the Football Association said: "All 22 players either trained or did recovery work."

Meanwhile, Jermain Defoe is expected to return to the national side's training base in Krakow, Poland tomorrow after attending his father's funeral.
