Roy Hodgson speaks of his pride after seeing his England side hold France to a 1-1 draw earlier today.

Roy Hodgson has described himself as "proud" after seeing his England side hold France to a 1-1 draw in Donetsk this evening.

The 64-year-old has only been in charge of the Three Lions for 42 days following the resignation of Fabio Capello in February.

With that in mind, Hodgson has admitted that he is pleased to have gained a point against one of the favourites for the trophy.

"We played well against a top team that ask questions when coming up against you," he told ITV Sport. "They don't panic in the final third so we had to be disciplined. I have to be happy with the result.

"They are a good team. We kept them at bay and there were not many situations where I was panicking, but if we had more luck with the final ball we could have scored a second goal.

"I have to be proud of their performance. No player let us down and I was confident the players would not let us down."

Next up for Hodgson's side is Sweden on Friday evening.
