Former England international Sol Campbell believes that supporters are risking their lives by travelling to Poland and Ukraine for the European Championships.

Former England and Arsenal defender Sol Campbell believes that supporters should refrain from travelling to Poland and Ukraine for Euro 2012 due to fears of racism.

Issues of discrimination and violence within Eastern Europe have been brought to light in recent months, which has caused Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's family to opt against going to watch their next of kin in the tournament.

"Stay at home, watch it on TV. Don't even risk it because you could end up coming back in a coffin," Campbell told BBC Panorama.

The recently retired professional believes that UEFA should not have allowed the competition to be held in Poland and Ukraine.

"I think that they were wrong, because what they should say is that if you want this tournament you sort your problems out.

"Until we see a massive improvement, that you have sorted [it] out, you are never going to get the tournament. You do not deserve these prestigious tournaments in your country."

Meanwhile, England boss Roy Hodgson could be without midfielder Gareth Barry, who is due to have a scan on his groin today.
