The Dark Blues held on for a 1-1 draw against Queen of the South.

Boss Jim McIntyre admitted Dundee had luck on their side as they held on for a replay against Queen of the South in their Scottish Cup fourth round tie.

Prolific striker Stephen Dobbie scored his 33rd goal of the season to put the visitors in front, but Jesse Curran levelled just before the break.

The replay will take place on January 29, and McIntyre said: "I thought Queen of the South were better than us, so I'm just glad we're still in the cup and have another chance to rectify that performance.

"I think we all know it was short of what we are looking for.

"These cup games are always difficult. You just have to look around and see there's been a few shocks elsewhere.

"Jesse's goal just before half-time was crucial. It was about the first moment of quality we had.

"Let's not forget, though, that Queens are also on a brilliant run of form and beat Ross County 4-0 the week before, and they've just gone and put Motherwell out of the cup.

"They're scoring goals freely but we must do better."

Queens boss Gary Naysmith said: "I'm very proud of how we played and just a little disappointed not to have made it through at the first attempt.

"For us to come here as a Championship club and put on that kind of performance was incredible.

"It's going to be another difficult game down in Dumfries but we'll give it our best shot and see if we can pull it off on the night."
