Derby County are reportedly in talks with Leon Best regarding a possible loan move to the East Midlands.
Best is surplus to requirements at Ewood Park, and the club's failure to hand him a squad number appears to indicate that the 27-year-old's career with Rovers has come to an end.
According to BBC Radio Derby, the Rams have opened talks with Blackburn and Best as they look to secure his signature, initially on a temporary basis.
The Republic of Ireland international spent the last three months of the previous campaign on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, where he netted five goals in 16 appearances.
