CSKA Moscow sanctions reduced by UEFA

CSKA Moscow's punishment for the racist behaviour of their fans is reduced by UEFA on appeal.

UEFA has reduced CSKA Moscow's punishment for the recent racist behaviour of their fans on appeal.

The Russian club had been ordered to play three European home games behind closed doors and was also fined €200,000 (£157,000) following a number of incidents against Roma in the Champions League last month.

Those sanctions have now been changed by European football's governing body to two matches and a €100,000 fine. One of those games has already been played after CSKA came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with Manchester City last week.

However, CSKA remain banned from selling tickets to fans for the team's next two away games in the Champions League.
