Injuries limited the 21-year-old to just 11 appearances last season, seven of which came during a loan spell with Ipswich Town in the Championship.
According to The Mirror, Williams is set to join the East Midlands side on a four-month loan deal as he looks to rebuild his fitness.
The young Wales international is a product of the Palace academy.
