Wilfried Zaha has conceded that he has fulfilled a life's ambition by being part of the Crystal Palace squad that gained promotion to the Premier League via the Championship playoffs today.
The 20-year-old, who came through the ranks at Selhurst Park, agreed in January to join Manchester United but was loaned back to the Eagles for the remainder of the campaign.
"We had so many fans here to support us. I am glad I was involved in all of this today. It is all I wanted. I have been at the club for 10 years, I have nothing but love for the club," he told BBC Sport.
"Going to Manchester United is good for me, but I had to stay at Palace and get the job done. I was too nervous at first, but after I thought it was just a game. I played how I know."
Zaha won the penalty that was converted by Kevin Phillips for what proved to be the winning goal at Wembley.
