Crystal Palace could be without Mile Jedinak for visit of Newcastle United

Crystal Palace might not be able to welcome back captain Mile Jedinak for the visit of Newcastle United as he is struggling with ankle soreness.

Crystal Palace might have to make do without captain Mile Jedinak for the eighth game in a row because of an ankle problem.

The midfielder returned from the AFC Asian Cup last week after helping Australia win the title, but still hasn't played for the Eagles in 2015 under new manager Alan Pardew because of ankle soreness.

Jedinak, 30, had scored five goals in 18 Premier League games before he departed for the tournament at the turn of the year.

Palace striker Marouane Chamakh is expected to miss out against Newcastle as he recovers from a broken nose, while Yannick Bolasie is available for the first time since New Year's Day after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, where he helped Congo DR finish third.
