Christian Benteke confirms Crystal Palace absence

Crystal Palace forward Christian Benteke reveals that he will miss Saturday's Premier League clash against Bournemouth due to a groin problem.

Crystal Palace forward Christian Benteke has revealed that he will miss Saturday's Premier League clash against Bournemouth through injury.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson conceded during his pre-match press conference that it was unlikely that the Belgian would be available for the trip to the Vitality Stadium after picking up a groin problem during Thursday's training session.

Benteke, who has only scored twice in 26 Premier League appearances during the 2017-18 campaign, has now taken to Twitter to confirm his absence.

Palace are currently 17th in the Premier League table - just two points ahead of 18th-placed Southampton.
