Alan Martin departs Crewe Alexandra

Goalkeeper Alan Martin leaves Crewe Alexandra by mutual consent.

Goalkeeper Alan Martin has departed League One side Crewe Alexandra by mutual consent.

The 25-year-old started 32 games last season, but has failed to hold down a regular spot this campaign and has therefore been allowed to seek pastures new.

The former Scotland Under-21 goalkeeper started his professional career at Motherwell, before moving to England with Leeds United in 2011.

It is believed that a number of Football League clubs are monitoring developments with a view to making a move before the end of the week.
