Colorado Rapids 2-2 Sporting Kansas City

Colorado Rapids come back from two goals down to hold Sporting Kansas City to a draw at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

Sporting Kansas City surrendered a two goal lead and were held to a disappointing draw by Colorado Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

The Eastern Conference high-flyers made the perfect start to the game and took the lead after two minutes as Teal Bunbury headed in from Seth Sinovic's whipped cross.

Kansas had looked to be in complete control 12 minutes later as Bunbury doubled his tally with a crisp left-footed finish from eight yards.

Colorado fought back admirably and were given hope seven minutes into the second half when Tyrone Marshall powered home a bullet header from Martin Rivero's free kick.

Kosuke Kimura levelled the scores on the hour mark as he volleyed Conor Casey's low cross into the bottom corner of the net from close range.

Kansas responded well and Lawrence Olum, Jacob Peterson and Kei Kamara all had good chances to win the game, but their finishing let them down and Peter Vermes' team were forced to settle for a point.
