Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis has expressed his desire to keep loanee midfielder Jamie Lowry at the club until the end of the season.
Lowry, 24, is currently on loan from Chesterfield and Davis and assistant manager Neil Baker have been impressed with the midfielder's form thus far.
"Neil has spoken to Chesterfield and we are waiting for them to come back," Davis told The Sentinel.
"They won last weekend, so [Chesterfield manager] John Sheridan might not want to change his side.
"I want to extend his loan, but it depends on what his club wants to do."
Crewe currently sit twelfth in League Two, four points off the play-off spots.
