Video: How did Chelsea fare in the transfer market?

The Sports Mole Sofa discusses Chelsea's business in the transfer window this summer.

Having finished third in the Premier League last season, there were clear areas of the pitch where Chelsea needed to improve this summer.

Manager Jose Mourinho has looked to address those positions, spending big money to bring the likes of Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis to the club.

There has also been something of a clear-out at Stamford Bridge, with no fewer than 18 players leaving temporarily or permanently, including club stalwarts Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole.

In: Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona) Undisclosed, Mario Pasalic (Hajduk Split) Undisclosed, Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid) Undisclosed, Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid) Undisclosed, Didier Drogba (Galatasaray) Free, Loic Remy (QPR) Undisclosed

Out: David Luiz (Paris Saint-Germain) £50m, Tomas Kalas (Cologne) Loan, Ashley Cole (Roma) Free, Samuel Eto'o Released, Henrique Hilario Released, Sam Hutchinson Released, Frank Lampard (New York City) Free, Demba Ba (Besiktas) Undisclosed, Mario Pasalic (Elche) Loan, Lucas Piazon (Eintracht Frankfurt) Loan, Patrick van Aanholt (Sunderland) Undisclosed, Romelu Lukaku (Everton) £28m, Ryan Bertrand (Southampton) Loan, Oriol Romeu (Stuttgart) Loan, Kenneth Omuero (Middlesbrough) Loan, Fernando Torres (AC Milan) Loan, Nathaniel Chalobah (Burnley) Loan, Marco Van Ginkel (AC Milan) Loan
