Wolverhampton Wanderers 'end interest in Divock Origi, Olivier Giroud'

Wolves reportedly end their interest in strikers Divock Origi and Olivier Giroud after recalling Patrick Cutrone from his loan spell at Fiorentina.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly ended their interest in Liverpool's Divock Origi and Chelsea's Olivier Giroud.

The West Midlands outfit are expected to be without star striker Raul Jimenez for a number of months following his skull fracture, and 18-year-old Fabio Silva has struggled to find his shooting boots.

As a result, Nuno Espirito Santo has been tipped to bring in a new forward in January, but rather than dipping into their war chest, Wolves have recalled Patrick Cutrone from his loan spell at Fiorentina.

According to The Mirror, Santo had originally taken a liking to Origi and Giroud, but he has conceded that moves for either frontman will not happen this month.

The report adds that the club's owners are not willing to finance big-money moves in January due to their summer of spending, with Santo instead being told to make do with the players he currently has at his disposal.

Origi has only made three Premier League appearances for Liverpool this term, while Giroud has proven himself as an important player for Blues but is now in the final six months of his deal at Stamford Bridge.
