Roma director Tiago Pinto reportedly met with representatives of Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud on Friday to discuss a possible summer move.
Giroud has scored 11 times in 24 appearances for the Blues during the 2020-21 campaign, but the Frenchman's existing deal at Stamford Bridge is due to expire at the end of June.
Talks over a possible extension have not yet begun, and the 34-year-old is currently free to hold discussions with foreign teams over a potential move at the end of his deal.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, representatives of the experienced forward met with Roma director Pinto on Friday to discuss the possibility of a switch to Italy.
Giroud has scored 39 times and registered 14 assists in 112 appearances for the Blues since making the move from Arsenal in the middle of the 2017-18 campaign.
Inter Milan have also previously been credited with an interest in the World Cup winner.
